This page is designed to cover some basic AoM strategies. The content that I post on this page is only a guideline of what should be loosely followed. You should mold and adapt your strategy to how you play. These strategies are no substitute for practicing and viewing recorded games. I highly recommend that you download and view recorded games from KS Josey Wales' website. I'm not an expert so take this advice for what its worth. These strategies are intended to help players new to online gaming to aid in developing their skill in microing and attacking. I hope you find these helpful!

Before I get into specific major god strategies, here's something to think about. Before you even start playing you should be going over a few things in your head. First of all, you should consider the type of map that you're playing. How is the geography of the map going to influence your play? What and how plentiful are the types of resources available in this map? More specifically, am I going to fish, hunt, or farm for food? These are just a few questions you should be asking yourself concerning the type of map that you're playing. Second, you should have a basic strategy goal. Is your goal to go fight/raid in Classical? Go FH (fast heroic)? Go FM (fast mythic)? or aim for the FT (fast titan)? You should always have this plan in mind; however, you should just as easily be able to deviate from it based on in-game situations. Lastly (and I'm sure theres other things to think about, but I'll end the intro here), you should know your enemy. Based on your opponent's major gods, as well as his minor god selection, what is the strategy goal that he most likely has in mind? You should make some decisions based on your opponent's strategy goal to exploit his weaknesses and give yourself an unforced advantage. Be attentive to his choices and style, but above all else, play your game, and put him on the defenseive, making him react to you.
